RC Essential Oil Blend

When any member of my family succumbs to the effects of seasonal irritants, viruses, or upper respiratory discomfort, we have one rockstar oil blend that's our immediate go-to. R.C.™ Essential Oil is a powerful blend of Spruce, Cyprus, and three types of Eucalyptus oils (E. globulus, E. radiata, and E. citriodora). I also diffuse or apply it directly before, during, or after my runs/workouts. Its energetic aroma will helps me stay motivated and opens my airways! It's in many of my favorite roll-ons and rubs, but is great in a post-workout massage or when diffused as well.

Diffuse:
4-8 drops (blends well with Peppermint, Lavender, and/or Copaiba)

Direct Inhalation:
2 drops in the palms of your hands and cupped over nose and mouth. Breathe in slowly and deeply multiple times.

The Energy Roll-On: 15ml
  • 50 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 40 drops RC Essential Oil Blend (you can substitute a Eucalyptus single oil)
  • 30 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Carrier Oil: SunCoco is one of my favorites! (carrier oil:essential oil ratio should be about 3:1)
Directions: Pour the drops of essential oil into your empty roll-on bottle (I frequently use my empty Young Living 15 ml essential oil bottles because Young Living sells a packet of 12 roll-on fitments -- the steal ball things -- in the accessories section of each member's account for a great price!). Add your carrier oil to fill the remaining space. Attach the Roll-On fitment (be sure to screw the cap on the bottle to lock the roll-on fitment in place!). Shake and apply.

Forget all that synthetic eucalyptus you find in your store-bought vapor rubs. One thing I've learned during my oil awakening is that there is just no substitute for awesomeness that occurs naturally. Here is a related Public Medical Journal discussing the "Antibacterial effects of Eucalyptus globulus leaf extract on pathogenic bacteria isolated from specimens of patients with respiratory tract disorders."
"Often imitated, never duplicated..."

As if combating fatigue and soothing sniffles wasn't enough already, this overachiever triples as a blend perfect for post-workout muscles. I've used it in a massage oil and in an Epsom Salt bath.
Muscle-Soothing Massage Oil
2 tbsp Grapeseed or Coconut Oil (substitute other carrier oils if desired)
15-20 drops RC essential oil blend
Optional Sub-Ins: Peppermint, PanAway, Copaiba, or Frankincense

Muscle-Soothing Bath Soak
2 cups Epsom Salt
15 drops RC essential oil blend
Optional Sub-Ins: Peppermint, PanAway, Copaiba, or Frankincense
Directions: Stir essential oils into the epsom salt BEFORE adding the mixture to the warm bath water. Soak for a minimum of 20 minutes.
