Young Living's Thieves essential oil is an inspired blend of highly aromatic and therapeutic herbs. The source of such inspiration was derived from the legend of four 15th century thieves and the herbs they wore as they robbed the dead and dying during the epidemic known as the black plague. Cinnamon, rosemary, clove, lemon, and eucalyptus radiata, make this blend a powerful immune supporting dietary supplement. When diffused, these herbal constituents not only fill your home with a festive and intoxicating holiday aroma, but also kill airborne germs. When applied topically, this blend has both a numbing and cleansing effect, making it ideal for oral care, and all-natural household cleaning. Young Living has used this blend of essential oils to create a comprehensive line of cleaning products, free from synthetic chemicals, harmful fumes, phthalates, and other irresponsible ingredients. After one year of incorporating Thieves essential oil into our health and wellness routine, we have had our healthiest year to date, landing this delicious blend on my Top 11 Essential Oils for Every Pantry list! Every Fall, we brace ourselves for the cold and flu season that typically comes with back-to-school mayhem and the changing of seasons. With three children under 8, immune systems are challenged daily by sub-par hand-washing, toddler fingers, and pure physical exhaustion. At the first sign of viral invasion (body aches, scratchy throat, sinus pressure), I mix up one of my favorite, soothing and comforting concoctions: Thieves Tea. I drink a cup of Thieves Tea at least 3 times a day until I begin to feel right again. There is nothing on the market more effective at soothing sore throats and sinus irritation. And this recipe is super simple. Thieves Tea: 1 mug of hot water or hot tea (sometimes I like chamomile before bed OR Irish Breakfast Tea in the morning) 1 tbsp of pure, raw, & unfiltered honey 2-3 drops of Thieves essential oil (you might want to start with 1 drop for the first taste) 2 drops of Lemon essential oil Stir frequently to keep the oils from rising to the top. Making a Thieves Capsule: In addition to a hot cup of tea, I often take Thieves veggie capsules in order to support my immune system. I add 4-5 drops of essential oil into the big end of a size 00 vegetable capsule, and then fill the remaining space with carrier oil (such as, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, Young Living's V6 carrier oil blend), before snapping the small end on top and taking twice a day with plenty of water. It's a quick and simple way to use oils as dietary supplements and if you prefer to make some ahead of time, they store quite nicely in a jar in the freezer. *Immune-Supporting Smoothie Recipe: 1 cup of firmly packed organic greens 1 cup of frozen organic berries 1 serving of your favorite vanilla protein powder or Young Living's Pure Protein Complete - Vanilla Spice 1 cup of organic unsweetened vanilla coconut milk 2-3 drops of Thieves Essential Oil 2-3 drops of Stress Away Essential Oil (contains vanilla fruit extract; ocotea, lime, copaiba, and cedarwood essential oils) Thieves Massage Oil In a 2 oz dropper bottle or jar, mix 20 drops of Thieves essential oil into 2 oz of carrier oil.
